Ottawa Bagelshop and Deli is the place to go for fresh Montreal-style deli bagels in Ottawa. Read on to learn why Ravi Shanghavi Ottawa loves this place so much…
You can find the bagelshop tucked away on 1321 Wellington Street West. The place doubles as a diner and a deli that sells gourmet produce such as condiments.
The diner feel to this cafeteria makes it a fun and convenient place to grab a quick, filling bite with friends. The Bagelshop does great breakfasts, which are served until 1:30pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends – perfect for brunch with friends. They’re open from 6:30am, which also makes the Bagelshop a great option for grabbing a bagel and coffee before work.
In terms of fillings, there’s an extensive range of options. The cream cheeses are fantastic, homemade, and not too heavy. The Ottawa Bagelshop is also a great place for vegetarians, with options such as ‘Vegetarian Bliss’ featuring marinated eggplant.
My top tip is to try and get the bagels when they’re still warm. You can do this by asking which ones are freshest out of the oven; it’ll often be the sesame seed bagels as these are baked throughout the day.
If you’re feeling like a bagel, and you’re in Ottawa, look no further than this spot – I’ve been coming here for years.
